I’m the Senior Opinion Editor for The Daily Beast.

I was previously a politics and culture Columnist for Business Insider, and before that I was the site’s Politics Editor.

Earlier, I was a Senior Editor at The Week, and served as a video producer, reporter, and Associate Editor at Reason — where I exposed police and prosecutorial corruption and reported on the 2016 presidential campaign, winning Southern California Journalism Awards from the Los Angeles Press Club in 2016 and 2017.

From 2017-2020, I was the producer/ombudsman of The Fifth Column podcast.

I’ve written, produced, and directed award-winning short films and documentaries which have been featured on Sundance Channel, Comedy Central, and CNN, produced daily news programs for Fox Business and BuzzFeed News, appeared on national TV and radio as a political commentator, and covered national affairs, culture, and sports as a contributor to The Daily Beast, Vox, The Week, Real Clear Life, Thrillist, Barron's, and the New York Daily News. My columns have been cited as essential reading in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Marshall Project, and other outlets.

I wrote and directed a narrative feature film called Sidewalk Traffic—a dramatic comedy about new fatherhood and depression. It screened at over 30 film festivals and now it’s distributed by Random Media and The Orchard. It’s good, you’ll like it, you should spend 3 bucks on iTunes or Amazon or anywhere and rent it.

I’m on Twitter @anthonyLfisher, sometimes my tweets are good but not always.

I really ought to get a professional headshot, but for now screengrabs from TV appearances will have to suffice.
